Juwan Howard keeps hanging up on NBA teams trying to get him to leave Michigan
Michigan Wolverines head coach Juwan Howard has made it more than clear he has no intentions of leaving Ann Arbor.
From the looks of things, Michigan Wolverines basketball fans have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to Juwan Howard’s future with the team. That’s because the team legend isn’t planning on going anywhere.
With multiple NBA openings already – including the Boston Celtics – Howard is gaining plenty of attention. However, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Howard continues to let teams know that he’s more than happy with Michigan and his heart is in Ann Arbor.
Juwan Howard has made it quite clear he wants to stay at Michigan for a long time
While making the leap from the college game to the pros would seem like a no-brainer for most, things are different here for Howard. He was a superstar for Michigan and he has nothing but love for his alma mater. He has said time and time again that coaching the Wolverines has been a dream come true for him.
So, that’s probably why turning down more money to coach in the NBA isn’t too difficult of a decision for him. Howard and his assistants continue to absolutely kill it on the recruiting trail, with the Wolverines expected to make plenty of noise come next season.
Howard has some unfinished business to take care of come the 2021-22 campaign, with the Wolverines hoping to win the Big Ten title and then go on a serious run in the NCAA Tournament next spring. While some folks were worried that Howard could be leaving campus at some point this offseason, it doesn’t look like that’s going to be happening. Howard is more than happy on his old stomping grounds.
