The All-NBA Teams were revealed on Tuesday night, and NBA Twitter has a bone to pick with the voters.
The All-NBA Teams, on the surface, are never really all that bad. Sure, a few fanbases feel turned off by the league failing to recognize their homegrown star, but is it could surely be worse. It’s not like LeBron James was left off the roster, or Nikola Jokic didn’t make the first team.
Nonetheless, there’s always something to complain about in the modern NBA. Here are the All-NBA teams, in full:
First Team: Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, Nikola Jokic
Second Team: Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Joel Embiid, Julius Randle, LeBron James
Third Team: Kyrie Irving, Bradley Beal, Rudy Gobert, Jimmy Butler, Paul George
NBA fans are unhappy about some of the snubs left off of the All-NBA rosters
It’s natural for some fans to be unhappy given the popularity of the league. Notable snubs from the All-NBA rosters include Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Russell Westbrook and Devin Booker.
Some have called for the NBA to go with position-less rosters, which would be more reflective of the modern league and limit snubs due to position fluidity.
To make sure we cover our bases, I’ve included tweets from every major fanbase mentioned above.
We’ll start with Donovan Mitchell:
The fact that Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum missed out on $33 million tonight because of media voting seems utterly ridiculous.

Both Boston’s Jayson Tatum & Utah’s Donovan Mitchell missed out on $33 million bonuses because neither made All-NBA. pic.twitter.com/YrfQ0lrfTT

Perhaps no fanbase is more passionate than Boston. Celtics supporters weren’t having it.
Jayson Tatum averaged more points, more rebounds, more steals, more blocks & less turnovers than Paul George.

He also averaged more points, more rebounds, more blocks & had a higher 3pt & FT% than Jimmy Butler.
Leave no doubt next season, @jaytatum0
Jayson Tatum was not named to any of the All-NBA Teams... 🤔

Last but not least is Russell Westbrook, whose value has depreciated despite his ridiculous triple-double numbers.

Russell Westbrook having the most votes of any guard left off All-NBA this season means that distinction has gone to a Wizards player for three straight years. Bradley Beal was that guy twice before getting in.

There were many, many more.
It’s not on the NBA, per say. There will always be snubs, especially in smaller markets. If anything, it speaks to the growing nature of the game and league itself.
