Cardinals fans react to Paul Goldschmidt’s walk-off home run
By Mark Powell
The St. Louis Cardinals desperately need some wins, and Paul Goldschmidt delivered in a big way.
Goldy was responsible for the Cardinals only runs of the night against the Miami Marlins, giving a struggling team a much-needed victory as they try to avoid further sliding down the NL Central standings. St. Louis, which led the division not so long ago, now sit in fourth place.
Nolan Arenado and Goldschmidt will anchor the corner infield for years to come, but if they don’t make the postseason in their first season together, it’ll be an abject failure. With the talent the Cardinals have on the roster, there’s no reason they shouldn’t at least compete for a Wild Card spot.
Goldschmidt sent fans home happy late Tuesday night.

Cardinals fans haven’t had much to cheer as of late. The pitching has struggled along with the rest of the team since ace Jack Flaherty’s injury. Thankfully, it appears Flaherty is enjoying his time on the mend, watching his squad chalk up a win without him.
The rest of Cardinals Nation stood up, as well.
There were more where that came from, trust me.
For now, Cardinals fans can celebrate. There’s another game tomorrow, folks.
