2 reasons the Chiefs can win the Super Bowl this season

The Kansas City Chiefs seem poised at another Super Bowl run, and they can win it this year because of two things.

It seemed like many were beginning to write off the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty after their awful performance in Super Bowl LV. Being dismantled at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers meant Andy Reid and company had to go back to the drawing board.

After an active offseason, the Chiefs look like they have what it takes to capture their second Lombardi in the Mahomes era. Here are two reasons why Kansas City can win this year’s Super Bowl.

Reason No. 1: The offense is reloaded and ready to wreak havoc

When you have an offense like Kansas City’s, there’s always a chance that they can be crowned champions at the end of the season. What is even scarier for NFL teams is that they’ve gotten even better. The Chiefs made sure to address their glaring weakness that showed itself in last year’s Super Bowl: their offensive line.

The team put a lot of resources into protecting Patrick Mahomes this offseason. They signed Kyle Long out of retirement, who was a solid player when healthy. They also signed Joe Thuney on a five-year, record-setting deal and added veteran center Austin Blythe. Lastly, they acquired Orlando Brown Jr. from the Ravens in a megadeal. For new lineman means that Mahomes should have all day to throw in the pocket.

Oh, and let’s not forget they have Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire as weapons too. They did lose Sammy Watkins, but if Mecole Hardman steps up, he will a great replacement. The Chiefs’ offense has been unfair for years now, but bolstering their offensive line, along with the other weapons makes them a more dangerous team.
