Christian McCaffrey took some pointed shots at Nebraska football coach Scott Frost over his comments about the transfer of former Cornhusker quarterback, Luke McCaffrey.
Carolina Panthers running Christian McCaffrey came to the defense of his brother Luke after his dramatic transfer from Nebraska ruffled Scott Frost’s feathers.
The younger McCaffrey committed to Nebraska where he played sparingly but at one point looked like a promising quarterback before transferring to Louisville this offseason. His time at Louisville was over before it even began and McCaffrey ultimately ended up at Rice.
Frost remarked the transfer of McCaffrey was due to receiving bad advice, per Mitch Sherman of The Athletic.
More words on the wild nature transfer portal from Scott Frost, who referenced Luke McCaffrey without mentioning his name. “Buckle up because this isn’t the last time you’re going to see this happening,” Frost said.

He added: “A lot of those kids are getting bad advice.”
McCaffrey brothers come to Luke’s defense over Frost’s chilly comments
Frost isn’t the first coach to feel jilted after losing a player from his roster to the transfer portal, and he’s definitely going to be the last. However, Christian had some pointed comments directed at Frost highlighting the hypocrisy of it all.
Before he was a national champion at Nebraska, Frost began his career playing for Bill Walsh at Stanford before he transferred to Lincoln. Did Frost receive bad advice when he left Stanford for Nebraska or was he just doing what was in his best interest?
Hold on didn’t you transfer?😂 PSA to all recruits: take note on how a coach treats his players once they’re no longer useful to him. #CmonMan @coach_frost pic.twitter.com/3ojYASdeml

Another McCaffrey brother, Max, a wide receivers coach at the University of Northern Colorado where father Ed is the head coach also came to his little brother’s defense.

The advent of the transfer portal has presented several ugly divorces with both players and coaches expressing their displeasure. But at the same time, this is why the transfer portal is good because it puts players in better situations they can thrive and be happy as opposed to be stuck in a place where they won’t have a chance to play or thrive in or out of the classroom for a coach they may not share a good relationship.
