Kevin Durant sends Game 7 to overtime with clutch shot (Video)
By Scott Rogust
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant tied the game up at 109 points apiece with clutch shot at end of fourth quarter.
As the game clock ticked closer and closer to zero, it appeared as though the Milwaukee Bucks were about to pull away and secure the Game 7 win over the Brooklyn Nets. But after a failed play on an inbounds attempt, the Nets had possession of the ball down 109-107 with six seconds on the clock.
That is all the time that Nets star Kevin Durant needed.
After receiving the inbounds pass from Jeff Green, Durant went one-on-one with Bucks forward P.J. Tucker, spun around and unleashed a shot. The ball traveled to the basket seemingly in slow motion, and it hit nothing but net to tie the game at 109 points apiece. As a result, Brooklyn and Milwaukee went to overtime.
Nets: Kevin Durant sends Game 7 into overtime with game-tying shot
With that clutch shot recorded, Durant made some history in the process. Durant now has the most points scored by a player in a Game 7 in history with 48 points scored in 53 minutes.
Unfortunately for Durant, his heroics were all for naught and he went ice cold in overtime. KD had the chance to pull the Nets ahead on a driving layup with less than a minute remaining on the game clock, but he was viciously rejected by Bucks center Brooks Lopez. Durant missed all six shot attempts in overtime. The Bucks went on to win 115-111, thanks to a go-ahead jump shot from forward Khris Middleton, and they are now headed to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Even though the Nets came up on the losing end of Game 7, no one will ever forget the epic performance by Durant with Brooklyn’s season on the line.
