The legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. ends his boxing career with a special exhibition against Hector Camacho Jr.

There were late shots, heated exchanges, bodywork, dirty boxing, and even a guest cameo from WBA/WBC/WBO super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, as Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. and Hector Camacho Jr. went four rounds in what is the final time the legendary Chavez Sr. will ever step foot in a boxing ring.

The fight began with Chavez Sr. immediately trying to apply pressure and come at Camacho Jr., while Camacho Jr. looked to keep Chavez Sr. at a distance.

Chavez Sr continued to come in on the front foot and worked the jab, though Camacho landed a quick combination that got Chavez Sr.’s attention. Chavez Sr. then started to work around the body as they went around the ring.

The two traded inside with some dirty boxing in the third round, as Chavez Sr. continued to work over the body, especially as Chavez Sr. had Camacho Jr. in the corner. Camacho Jr. turned it around and scored some shots against the ropes in the final seconds of the third.

Those final seconds, however, saw both men land shots after the bell, which caused some friction between the pair.

Chavez Sr. then attempted to take his headgear off against the wishes of his family — and Camacho Jr. appeared to refuse to partake any further unless Chavez Sr. kept it on. Chavez Sr. then reluctantly put the headgear back on but asked for Alvarez to be a guest cornerman for him in the final round.

Chavez Sr. had control for most of the final round, continuing to pound away at the body and mix things upstairs.

Following the fight, Chavez Sr. sang the praises of Alvarez, who has looked up to Chavez Sr. and considered him the greatest Mexican fighter ever.
