Vanessa Bryant posted an emotional message on Instagram for Kobe Bryant on Father’s Day.

Every year, on the third Sunday of June, the United States celebrates Father’s Day. Athletes, like other dads, celebrated the day by spending time with their children, while also giving thanks to the father figures in their lives, whether they are here physically or no longer with us.

On Sunday, Vanessa Bryant penned an emotional message to her husband on Instagram, the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, aka “the best girl dad.” Bryant posted the caption with a photo of her husband with their four daughters Natalia, Gianna, Bianka and Capri.

On Jan. 26, 2020, Kobe and Gianna Bryant were among nine passengers tragically killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Calif. The former Lakers player was 41-years-old, while Gianna was only 13.

Shortly after his tragic passing, it was announced that Bryant was going to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on his very first time on the ballot. The induction ceremony for the Class of 2020 did not take place until this past May due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Vanessa paid tribute to her husband with a tremendous and emotional speech. While she did discuss his basketball mindset and his various accolades throughout his 20-year career in the NBA, she said that his greatest accomplishment in life was being “the best girl dad.” If you ever have the chance, please rewatch the speech at this link.
