WWE Hell in a Cell full results: Bobby Lashley retains in the last chance for Drew McIntyre

The WWE has just completed their final pay-per-view broadcasted from the WWE ThunderDome before they return to the road. Hell in a Cell featured two championship matches, with both bouts contested inside the titular match type also known as (among other names) “The Devil’s Playground.”

The headline bout of the evening saw Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre battle over the WWE Championship once more, with the added stipulation that with a loss, McIntyre would be unable to challenge for the title again as long as Lashley held the gold.

A brutal, back-and-forth battle saw a couple of false finishes, with McIntyre believing he had the match won, but in one case, the first referee was knocked out, and in the other, with McIntyre commanding the outside official to enter the ring, MVP interfered with the fall.

After some more battling, McIntyre set up for another Claymore, but MVP got his nose involved again, allowing Lashley to roll up McIntyre for the win.

As a result, for the rest of Lashley’s reign, McIntyre cannot challenge for the title again.

Before the main event, the undercard was capped off by Rhea Ripley putting the Raw Women’s title on the line against Charlotte Flair.

Ripley kept herself in the fight despite some of Flair’s dirty tricks. But when Ripley couldn’t put Flair away, Ripley, in desperation, hit Flair with a removable portion of the announce table, causing a disqualification. Flair won the match, but Ripley retained the title on champion’s advantage and left a statement on Flair after the bell.

Kevin Owens, still suffering the effects from the Nigerian Nail by Commander Azeez from this past SmackDown, continued his on-again, off-again rivalry with Sami Zayn that has been going on since before they entered WWE.

Ultimately, Owens’s struggles proved to be too much, and Zayn got the win with a Helluva Kick.

The bizarre, and quite not-so-popular, feud between Alexa Bliss and Shayna Baszler then took to the stage. The match saw Baszler try to dish out punishment on Bliss, only for Bliss to laugh it off. Bliss would then swing the momentum and unleash several attacks on Baslzer, and even use hypnosis on Nia Jax at ringside, before scoring the win with a Sister Abigail and Twisted Bliss.

Seth Rollins was finally able to get a win over Cesaro, who had defeated him both at WrestleMania 37 and on an April episode of SmackDown. The two men, displaying great chemistry in the ring, had their moments, with Cesaro both managing to rip Rollins’ glove off and place it in his mouth and give him the giant swing.

Rollins, however, took advantage of a second Sharpshooter attempt by Cesaro and got the three count on an inside cradle.

The event opened with the other of the two championship Hell in a Cell matches, as Bianca Belair defended the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bayley. In an intense match that featured plenty of weapons spots, Belair won and kept her title after delivering a Kiss of Death to Bayley, who landed on a ladder, which was bent in half as a result.

The action began on the Kickoff Show, with Natalya, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions, scored a win over Mandy Rose after locking her in the Sharpshooter and getting the submission.

The next WWE pay-per-view will take place on July 18, at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. It will be the first WWE pay-per-view event to take place in front of a live audience since the start of the COVID pandemic.

WWE will return to live crowds two days earlier with the July 16 edition of SmackDown.
