Look: Klay Thompson looks like vintage Klay in return to court as rehab clears big hurdle
Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson is back training at the Chase Center and his latest Instagram post is absolute gold.
It might be impossible to not root for Golden State Warriors’ small forward Klay Thompson. After helping his team win three NBA Finals, the former Washington State standout has faced nothing but adversity in his career.
In the NBA Finals in June of 2019, Thompson tried to throw down a jam, but then landed awkwardly and tore his ACL after being fouled. He missed the entire 2019-20 campaign. Then, as he was getting ready to get back on the hardwood this past season, Thompson tore his Achilles’ heel in heartbreaking fashion.
He’s ready to get back on the court next fall, and his latest Instagram post will surely fire up Golden State fans all over the place as his rehab has seen him return to the court to take some shots.
Warriors fans have to like what they see as Klay Thompson cleared a big hurdle in his rehab.
“DubNation, I still have a really long, long, LOOOONG way to go,” he wrote on Instagram. “But my goodness, it felt so dang good to get up and down and see the ball go thru the net. Can’t wait to burn em down next year!! Big milestone for me this week.”
The fact that Thompson is already running up and down the court and burying jumpers is so great to see. When healthy, Thompson is not only one of the best shooters in the game, but he’ll also be remembered as one of the best 3-point artists of his generation.
Prior to going down with his injuries, Thompson recorded five consecutive seasons of averaging at least 20 points per game. He won the NBA Finals with Golden State in 2015, 2017 and 2018. Come next year, he’ll look to bring home title No. 4. If he’s fully good to go, the Warriors will surely be in a strong place to potentially make that happen.
