Mets surprisingly activate star Michael Conforto off the Injured List
Seemingly out of nowhere, exciting news has arrived for the New York Mets in activating Michael Conforto off the Injured List.
Things sure are exciting over in Flushing right now. Not only do the New York Mets have the best record in the NL East at 37-30, but they’re welcoming back star players left and right. First, Jeff McNeil was brought back on Monday. So, how have things been followed up?
On Tuesday, the team announced that star outfielder Michael Conforto, who has been out for around six weeks, will be activated off the Injured List. You better believe Mets fans are fired up right now.
Michael Conforto coming off the Injured List is huge news for the Mets
Due to a serious hamstring injury, Conforto has only been able to suit up for 33 games this season. Before going on the IL, the lefty was hitting .230, with two homers and 13 RBI. Obviously, it wasn’t the start to the year he was hoping for, but the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder will be hungry to get things going with a bang now that he’ll be back in action.
Despite Conforto and others missing a significant amount of time, the fans at Citi Field have watched the Mets play at a high level throughout the year. Francisco Lindor struggled mightily to start the season, but he’s woken up in a big way for the club.
Now with Conforto ready to make magic happen in the middle of the lineup too, it’s bad news for the Braves, Phillies, Nationals and Marlins. Conforto has serious power, and he’ll be ready to try and leave the yard whenever he’s up at the dish. Now, more than ever, watch out for the Mets.
