The beef between Damian Lillard and Patrick Beverly is one of the great player rivalries in the NBA, and it continued off the court last night.

Look at the top of the NBA’s peskiest defenders list, you’ll find Clippers guard Patrick Beverly. The nine-year veteran has made a name for himself for his defense, part of which includes attempting to not give his opponent any room to operate, while also drawing fouls.

Some of the offensive foul calls aren’t always legit. Beverly is also a known actor, and Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard took to Twitter during Tuesday’s Game 2 between the Clippers and Suns to share his feelings on Pat Bev.

What’s more upsetting for Lillard is probably the fact he’s currently at home while watching Beverly flop around in the Western Conference Finals. You might recall the two have a shared history of heated regular season and playoff matchups.

Damian Lillard and Patrick Beverly have a well-noted rivalry.

In the bubble last summer, Lillard missed two crucial free throws late in an important game against the Clippers and Beverly, along with his Los Angeles teammates, were seen mocking Lillard on the sideline.

Lillard fired back in the postgame, citing the 2014 first round when he sent Beverly and the Rockets home with an all-time playoff buzzer-beater.

Lillard didn’t hold back there, in that same postgame he was quick to remind Clippers guard Paul George, who was also mocking Lillard’s missed free throws, who eliminated him in the 2019 playoffs.

It doesn’t get much better than some good old-fashioned trash talk in sports. What makes it even sweeter for guys like Lillard is backing it up with their play. This time around though, it’s possible Beverly and George can get the last laugh on their quest for a championship.
