Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless reacted to the Atlanta Hawks defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 116-113 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Atlanta Hawks have not made it to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2015, where they were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers. But on Wednesday night, they got on the board in their series against the Milwaukee Bucks with a 116-113 Game 1 victory. Guard Trae Young led the way by scoring 48 points in his conference finals debut.
Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless, the stars of FOX Sports’ Undisputed, shared their thoughts on the end result of Game 1. Sharpe expressed his belief that the Hawks belong in the Eastern Conference Finals, while Bayless lofted praise towards Young before throwing some shade at Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Hawks are showing they belong in ECF. This isn’t accident, BUCKS got their hands full. #NBAPlayoffs #HawksvsBucks

I'm obviously not the biggest Trae Young fan, but I definitely trust him on the conf-finals stage more than I do Giannis. This was the best game I've seen Trae play. 48 with 6 late clutch free throws. Giannis failed to take over in his house. I said Hawks in 6. One down.

For the record, I did not love Trae Young's shimmy before he hit that wide-open three. He's no Steph from three - a lousy 32% in the playoffs, only 4-13 tonight. But I'll give him this: The shimmy sent a message to the Bucks & their fans that Trae does NOT Fear the Deer.

It’s not a Skip Bayless tweet unless he criticizes a star player.
Young had a historic night on the road in Milwaukee, as he dropped 48 points on the Bucks while shooting 17-of-34 from the field, while recording 11 assists and 7 rebounds. What makes this even more impressive is that Young did all of this in his Eastern Conference Finals debut at the age of 22.
The Hawks star guard received some help from forward John Collins, who tallied 23 points (11-for-16 from the field) and 15 rebounds.
Antetokounmpo nearly had a triple-double after recording 34 points (14-for-25 from the field), 12 rebounds and 9 assists in 41 minutes. Guard Jrue Holiday scored 33 points (14-for-25 shooting, 5-for-12 from 3-point range) and dished out 10 assists in 42 minutes.
The Bucks still have plenty of time to rebound, since this is only Game 1 of the series, but the Hawks have shown throughout the playoffs that they are tough to keep down. This series is going to be a fun one.
