3 reasons the Clippers will come back from another 0-2 deficit
2. The Clippers haven’t played their best yet
Los Angeles lost two games on the road by single digits, one of those by the margin of milliseconds. Obviously, they would have rather won those games, but it’s not like the Suns ran the Kawhi-less Clippers off the court in Phoenix.
They weren’t particularly great in those two games either.
In Game 1, they shot 45.5 percent from the field and 42.6 percent from beyond the arc. They allowed the Suns to shoot 55.1 percent.
The story in Game 2 was one of heartbreak. Paul George missed two crucial free throws in the final seconds and DeAndre Ayton ended it with an improbable alley-oop dunk out of an inbounds pass. However, LA was uncharacteristically inaccurate from 3-point range at just 38.2 percent. George, who has averaged just under three triples made this postseason went 1-of-8.
That’s not to say the Clippers will definitely shoot better as the series goes on, but they certainly have reason to expect they can.
The important thing is for George to regain some confidence after his terrible end to Game 2.
