1. The Clippers may survive long enough for Kawhi Leonard to return

It’s undoubtedly frustrating knowing Kawhi Leonard’s status is still “indefinite.” If there were a potential return date for the star, the complexion of the series would be significantly easier to determine.

Still, Leonard hasn’t been ruled out, which means he could return at any moment.

When he does, everything will change. Leonard’s return will be a massive boost. First, he’ll bring his All-Star level on both the offensive and defensive ends. Second, he’ll inject belief into a squad that has already coped admirably without him.

The Clippers simply have to hold on until he’s ready to go. That means leaning on Paul George, who has to give everything he’s got until he can pass the responsibility back to Leonard.

The Los Angeles leg of the series is critical. The Suns won’t have their raucous home crowd behind them, which could be just enough to give the Clippers the edge they need to even the series.

It’s all still very much in doubt. But this Clippers team hasn’t given up yet.
