Devin Booker recently got a tattoo that says ‘Be Legendary’ in a living tribute to Kobe Bryant.

The last time Booker played against Kobe, the late Los Angeles Lakers star told him to be legendary. Booker put up 28 points in that game and in the time since he’s developed into one of the game’s best young talents and rising superstars.

His play in the postseason is a big reason the Suns are one win away from the franchise’s first NBA Finals appearance since Charles Barkley led them there in 1993.

For Booker, he has a prime opportunity to live up to the words by Kobe that are inked on his forearm and be legendary to lead the Suns past the Clippers and to the NBA Finals where they await the winner of the Bucks-Hawks series.

Booker will want to tap into that Mamba Mentality Kobe made famous to avoid playing a Game 6 and continuing this series. All he has to do is look at his forearm and remember the words Kobe said to him for that extra bit of motivation.

Booker previously spoke about the impact Kobe had on his life and basketball career:

“It’s been a lot of what I do, man, mentality wise, approach wise everything, before I even knew him personally, he had shaped my life. My basketball career. My approach to everything,” Booker said. “The biggest thing for me was earning his respect,” Booker said. “To even be the guy in the room after we play them that he wanted to talk to or share advice with. Then our relationship had grown from there. Just figuring out what type of person he was outside of the Mamba mentality. How he raised his daughters and how much of a family man he was something that was just incredible.”
