Skip Bayless wasted no time in praising the Atlanta Hawks after their Game 4 win against the Giannis-less Milwaukee Bucks.

Skip Bayless had high praise for the Atlanta Hawks, who came out on top in a Game 4 without the help of Trae Young. In the end, it wasn’t even close.

Of course, the Hawks’ opponents, the Milwaukee Bucks, were without two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo for much of the game. As Bayless suggests in his Tweet, a knee injury to one of the NBA’s brightest stars is not the way you want to win, but it’s a win nonetheless.

Skip just couldn’t resist gloating that he picked Atlanta in six, even if he said this isn’t the way he wanted it to happen.

Skip Bayless says Hawks looked “shockingly good” in Game 4

In the absence of Young and Antetokoumpo, it was Atlanta’s young stars who stepped up on Tuesday night. Bayless rightly pointed out the performances of Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish, who had 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Of course, Lou Williams also did an outstanding job filling in for Young at the point. Known as one of the NBA’s best sixth options throughout his career, the 34-year-old Williams can catch fire as quickly as anyone. He shot the lights out in a way that would make Young proud, hitting at a ridiculous 77.8 percent clip while also dishing out 8 assists.

Full credit to Atlanta for winning without their leading scorer to even the series, even if Giannis going down with injury was a factor. Ultimately, the health of Giannis and Trae will likely determine who wins two of the three games remaining in the Eastern Conference Finals.

With a spot in the NBA Finals on the line, there’s ample opportunity for a secondary star or even a role player to be the difference-maker and forever etch their name into their franchise’s history. If that player happens to be an Atlanta Hawk, you can bet Skip Bayless will be raving about it.
