By John Buhler
The Milwaukee Bucks have seen their NBA title odds drop after Giannis Antetokounmpo’s knee injury suffered in Game 4.
With serious NBA title aspirations, the Milwaukee Bucks are up against it now that Giannis Antetokounmpo has suffered a scary knee injury.
While the MRI on his knee revealed no structural damage, Antetokounmpo is listed as doubtful for Game 5 on Thursday night vs. the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals. Atlanta took Game 4 at home on Tuesday night without starting point guard Trae Young. The Hawks were in full control of the game before Antetokounmpo collided with center Clint Capela above the rim.
Here are the latest NBA title odds after Antetokounmpo’s knee injury. Odds are from WynnBET.
Updated NBA championship odds after Giannis Antetokounmpo knee injury
- Phoenix Suns: -140
- Milwaukee Bucks: +325
- Atlanta Hawks: +550
- LA Clippers: +700
Up 3-2 in their best-of-seven series out west, the Phoenix Suns are the favorite to win the NBA Finals at -140. While Milwaukee still has the second-best odds to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy this summer at +325, Atlanta has closed the gap to some degree at +550. Phoenix’s Western Conference Finals opponent in the LA Clippers are bit of a long shot with only +700 odds to win it.
Though Milwaukee could beat Atlanta in six or seven games without Antetokounmpo, it will be very difficult for the Bucks to win four-of-seven vs. Phoenix. Milwaukee may have to hope Atlanta has run out of gas and that the Clippers can rattle off three wins in a row after being down 3-1 to the Suns to make their first trip to the NBA Finals in franchise history. It does not look good for the Bucks at all.
Bucks fans are praying Antetokounmpo can return at some point during the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
