Clemson football star D.J. Uiagalelei plans to go places when NIL legislation comes into play.

With NIL legislation taking flight on July 1, Clemson football star quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei seems to have booked his ticket for what he wants his first endorsement to be.

Uiagalelei has been not so shy about his affinity for flying Delta these last few days. The major American airline has a huge presence in the southeast being headquartered in nearby Atlanta and all. Uiagalelei hails from the West Coast in his native California. Naturally, the fit for a star college quarterback to potentially partner with a massive airline brand makes all the sense in the world.

Don’t be shocked if you see an Uiagalelei billboard on I-85 telling you to go Fly Delta Jets this fall.

Clemson football star D.J. Uiagalelei hints at first major NIL endorsement

Uiagalelei is not the first college player of note to throw his hat into the ring when it comes to NIL. In fact, his Clemson teammate in wide receiver Justyn Ross says he is open for business on July 1 when this NIL legislation goes into effect. While Ross could have gone pro last spring if not for an injury, keep in mind Uiagalelei is only entering his true sophomore year with the Tigers program.

Not every player in every sport will be able to reap the benefits of NIL legislation to the degree Ross or Uiagelelei can. They play two very important offensive positions on the biggest team of note in the state of South Carolina. Clemson is on the Georgia border and North Carolina is not all that far away from campus either. Getting a Delta endorsement would be massive for Uiagalelei.

If a quarterback with two career starts can get a Delta endorsement, then NIL is off to a fast start.
