Atlanta Hawks provide Clint Capela injury update ahead of Game 5
The Atlanta Hawks offer an update on Clint Capela after getting elbowed in Game 4.
The Atlanta Hawks are giving the Milwaukee Bucks all they can handle. They jumped over them in the third quarter en route to a 110-88 victory in Game 4. With the series tied 2-2 and Giannis Antentokounmpo injured, this could be the chance Atlanta needs to reach the NBA Finals. Despite their dominant win in Game 4, one of their key players went down with an injury.
Hawks center Clint Capela was elbowed during the fourth quarter of the game, and it didn’t look pretty. It begs to question why he was in the game when Atlanta had a 22-point lead in the fourth quarter, but that’s another topic for another day. The team gave an update on the big man’s injury after the game, holding out hope he’ll be ready for Game 5.
Clint Capela injury: Hawks hops to have forward for Game 5
After the game, the Hawks provided an update on Clint Capela’s injury. The center was checked out by an ophthalmologist postgame and will be re-examined on Wednesday.
The big man’s status will be updated by 5 p.m. Wednesday according to the team. ESPN Tim Bontemps reported that there is optimism that Capela avoided any serious injuries to his eye. His status for Game 5 on Thursday is currently unknown, but Bontemps reported that there is growing hope that Capela will be ready to go for a pivotal matchup.
The Hawks already have Trae Young dealing with an injury, so hearing that Capela could play is a positive sign. He played well in Game 4, scoring 15 points on 85% shooting with 7 rebounds, along with an incredible circus shot. If he can play in Game 5, he could end up being the x-factor, especially with Antentokounmpo’s injury.
