Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a leg injury in Game 4, and the MRI results show the best-case scenario.
The entire state of Milwaukee has figuratively held its breath for the past 24 hours. In Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo injured his leg and was in a lot of pain. He was out for the remainder of the contest, and he was sorely missed as the Atlanta Hawks routed the Bucks 110-88. The loss hurts, but the potential of missing their two-time MVP for a crucial Game 5 is the primary concern for Milwaukee.
Antetokounmpo received an outpouring of support on social media following the injury. Fellow stars like LeBron James, Trae Young, and even NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes offered their thoughts and prayers on social media. The NBA has had many superstars succumb to injuries this year, which is a downer for the players, fans, and analysts.
The team has called Antetokounmpo’s injury a hyperextended knee, and more tests and imaging will happened Wednesday. News of the MRI results are out, and the results are looking good for the two-time MVP.
Milwaukee Bucks get great news regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MRI results
The results of Giannis’ MRI means the Bucks and the state of Milwaukee can breathe a sigh of relief. Antetokounmpo didn’t suffer any structural damage to his knee and all of his ligaments are sound, according to ESPN’s Adrain Wojnarowski. Although no structural damage is a great thing, Woj added that the timetable for the Bucks star is unclear.

The bad news is the Greak Freak is listed as doubtful for Thursday’s pivotal Game 5

Even so, this is the best possible news the Bucks could get regarding Antetokounmpo’s knee. The fall looked more gruesome, and the two-time MVP was clearly in a lot of pain afterward, so no ligament damage is terrific news. Nevertheless, Milwaukee will now have to focus on going into Game 5 without their best player on both ends of the floor.
