Josh Donaldson enrages White Sox with another home run and bat drop (Video)
Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson’s feud with the White Sox over sticky substances seems to be fueling his bat. He hit another home run on Wednesday.
Josh Donaldson and Chicago haven’t gotten along since the series between the Twins and White Sox started.
There’s been sniping back and forth between Donaldson and the White Sox since Donaldson shouted about Lucas Giolito’s hands not being sticky anymore as he crossed home plate after a home run.
Giolito called Donaldson a pest. Ozzie Guillen said he’d throw at the third baseman in response. Donaldson hit back with digs at each of them in a Zoom press conference tirade.
All the drama isn’t stopping Donaldson from putting his money where his mouth is. In his first at-bat on Wednesday, Donaldson blasted a 409-foot home run to silence the jeering crowd in Chicago.

If you’re going to engage in a public feud with an opposing pitcher, that’s the kind of thing you’ve got to pull off when you come to the plate again.
Josh Donaldson backed up his fighting words with a big home run
Donaldson has now hit three home runs in three games. He got the streak started against the Indians as the Twins won 8-2. All the ruckus started on Tuesday when he hit a home run early against the White Sox.
This one probably felt the best of the bunch.
The homer brought Donaldson’s total to 13 this season. The 35-year-old is batting .251/.344/.478 in his 11th year in the majors.
The White Sox are in control of the AL Central with a 46-32 record going into Wednesday’s meeting. The Twins are in fourth place and below .500, but they’ve been on a stronger run lately. Despite the loss on Tuesday, they have won seven of their last 10.
