Manchester United finally land star Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho
After years of drama and speculation, Jadon Sancho will reportedly make the move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United.
The news Manchester United supporters have been dreaming of has finally, thankfully arrived. On Wednesday, insider Fabrizio Romano delivered the three words every soccer/football fan love to see, with his ‘here we go’ being dropped on Twitter. In this case, he confirmed that Jason Sancho is headed to the Theatre of Dreams.
Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have come to an agreement after what feels like several years of rumors and reports being flown around. Per Romano, the deal will be worth around $106 million (€90 millon) with add ons.
Manchester United has reached an agreement to bring Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford
You can already here the chants coming from the Stretford End come 2021, right? United fans will certainly be ready to scream at the top of their lungs, “We’ve got Sancho, Paul Pogba and Fred… Marcus Rashford is Manc born and bred!”
Ole’s at the wheel and now he’ll have the electric Sancho at his disposal. Sancho, who just turned 21 years old in March, made more than 100 senior appearances for Dortmund, scoring 38 goals. He’s also made 20 appearances for the English national team, though Gareth Southgate has been under fire for basically keeping him on the bench throughout the Euros.
Nevertheless, Sancho is now Manchester-bound, and he’ll be donning red instead of Manchester City’s blue. The thought of him running down the pitch with Rashford should certainly scare the rest of the English Premier League.
Later this summer, Manchester United must prioritize signing another center back. Should they be able to get that done, and potentially bring in Eduardo Camavinga, then this team really could be built to win the league title sooner than later.
