The 2021 College World Series will come to a conclusion as the Vanderbilt Commodores and the Mississippi State Bulldogs play for a national championship Wednesday evening.

Vanderbilt is seeking its second straight College World Series championship while the Bulldogs are looking to win the first team championship in the fairly lengthy history of Mississippi State University.

This game is pretty big for both programs. Tim Corbin and the Commodores have the opportunity to win their third championship together. Vanderbilt sets the standard for college baseball in many ways with the amount of success the Commodores have. They’re looking to continue to build upon an already remarkable program with another title.

Meanwhile, Chris Lemonis, in his second full season of leading the Bulldogs, has guided Mississippi State to back to Omaha. This is the 12th time MSU has played in the College World Series and it’s the third time State has been in Omaha in as many seasons. And while MSU has one of the most passionate fanbases in all of college baseball, State has yet to find a way to win it all. That could change tonight.
