Damian Lillard to Lakers? Is Steph Curry going to the Lakers? How about we come back to reality and consider some trade packages that L.A. can realistically make.

After getting bounced in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers enter the offseason with a ton of uncertainty.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James staying healthy fixes a lot of problems, but the Lakers first-round exit also exposed some flaws that need to be addressed.

Kyle Kuzma essentially played himself off the team, Dennis Shroder wants God Money, and the team needs to add a third notable star to play alongside LeBron and A.D. next season. The term ‘star’ is extremely flexible, and shouldn’t be read into as meaning someone like Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal.

But there are either existing veteran stars or up-and-coming stars the Lakers could try to land with a package of Kuzma, Talen Horton-Tucker, and either a protected first-round pick or a second-round pick.

Damian Lillard to Lakers?

Let’s get this one out of the way real fast: Lillard to Lakers is not something that’s happening.

Unless Lillard pulls an Aaron Rodgers or James Harden and outright refuses to acknowledge the Blazers existence, as well as clearly stating that the Lakers are the only team he’d play for, this is. pipe dream.

Lakers fans are great, but they’re Yankees fans of the West when it comes to thinking a bag of basketballs will net them the ghost of Wilt Chamberlain. Kyle Kuzma, Talen Horton-Tucker, and a handful of picks — including a future protected first — is a decent package but not one that will net a superstar.

Nothing the Lakers can offer is better than what the Blazers could get elsewhere. Even a Ben Simmons trade package is more appealing than what L.A. has to offer, and that’s before we consider Sam Presti gazing with a crazed look into his war chest of first-round picks.

Lillard, Beal, even Simmons, are not going to be playing for the Lakers unless they force their way there. And even then, the gymnastics required to make Lillard to Lakers happen complicates things beyond the point of reason and reality.

Is Steph Curry going to the Lakers?

*Extreme Allen Iverson ‘We’re talking about practice’ voice*: Is Steph Curry going to the Lakers?

You guys, stop it. We love you and we all love #content, but Steph Curry is not going to the Lakers. If he does go to the Laker this offseason, then please Old Tweets Exposed the hell out of this article and shame me forever.

But he won’t.

So who can the Lakers get in a trade if it puts together a trade package of Kyle Kumza, Talen Horton-Tucker, and a pick?
