Kevin Love to the Portland Trail Blazers is the homecoming we have begged for

For years, people all across the internet have clamored for the native Oregonian to return home. Yes, the son of an Oregon Duck and a Lake Oswego native could be on the move to the Portland Trail Blazers. The player that would have to go the other way would be none other than former Lehigh standout and Canton, Ohio native CJ McCollum. Maybe this is the summer it does happen?

Love would be able to give the Trail Blazers the rebounding and the front-court versatility it covets. McCollum would be able to play off presumably Darius Garland in Cleveland, with Collin Sexton likely on the way out of Ohio in a trade of his own. But the very best part in all of this is we might get to see The Droppin’ Dimes Blazers! Chris Paul would be so proud to see them all grown up.

To make things even more interesting, Love and Damian Lillard will be teammates in Tokyo. You have to believe being able to play with players of influence like Lillard is a big reason why Love signed up to play for Team USA. Not only will it reaffirm that he is a great player with plenty left in the tank, but he will also get a better feel about what team he may be traded to later this summer.

Again, this is all contingent on Lillard staying put in the Trail Blazers organization going forward.
