Twitter roasts ESPN for ruining the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
By Scott Rogust

Twitter users roasted ESPN after their broadcast of Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest lagged as Joey Chestnut made history.
On Saturday night, Twitter users were in an uproar after the TNT broadcast of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks shut down on them. Surely, nothing similar would happen less than 24 hours later on a different network, right? ESPN would like you to hold their beer, please.
As is the case every Fourth of July, fans tune in to see the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, aka Joey Chestnut’s yearly championship coronation. Speaking of Chestnut, he broke his own world record by eating 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes to earn his 14th title. While that was great and all, some viewers missed it due to the ESPN broadcast lagging out of control.

That ESPN feed was a DISTASTER, and still, their hot dog contest broadcast was 100 times better than their baseball broadcasts.

Joey Chestnut is going so hard he broke ESPN

It’s like the broadcast was running on dialup, and a phone call was made while someone was using the internet. What unfortunate timing.
With his latest victory, Chestnut now has more championships than Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan combined. But still, many viewers would have like to seen the full broadcast of the historic event.
