Ronald Acuña gets perfect revenge on Marlins with truly epic July 4 bat flip (Video)

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. got revenge on the Miami Marlins on Sunday in the form of a two-run home run, and subsequent bat flip.
The start of the Atlanta Braves-Miami Marlins series got off to a contentious start on Friday after Pablo Lopez hit outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. in the left elbow guard with the first pitch of the game, leading to the ejection of himself, manager Don Mattingly and pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre Jr. It is no secret that Acuña has been plunked a lot by the Marlins throughout his young career, and he got his revenge on Sunday.
In the bottom of the third inning, Acuña launched a pitch by Zach Thompson into the right field stands of Truist Park to give the Braves an early 2-0 lead. Acuña admired the shot as he walked down the first base foul line before flipping his bat.

What a way to exact revenge on the team that keeps plunking you. As for Acuña’s bat, it floated out of frame like Poochie the Dog from that infamous episode of “The Simpsons.”
With this latest hit into the outfield stands, Acuña now has 21 career home runs against the Marlins. Entering Sunday’s series finale, Acuña had a career .320 batting average and 1.102 WHIP in 53 games against Miami.
Maybe the Marlins should consider intentionally walking Acuña from here on out.
