New York Yankees starter Gerrit Cole had another rough start on Sunday and fans are losing patience with him in a big way.
Things just feel like they’re going from bad to worse for the New York Yankees and superstar hurler Gerrit Cole. Well, with the way he’s been playing of late, it really is hard to call the righty a superstar on the bump.
Cole has been struggling on the bump. As everyone knows, Yankees fans are some of the most unforgiving people on the planet. If you don’t live up to your contract or hype, they’ll turn on you pretty quickly. Thanks to a rough showing against the Mets on Sunday, Cole knows this first hand.
Gerrit Cole exits to boos here at Yankee Stadium. The Mets knock him out after just 3.1 IP. Bases still loaded, Mets down 4-3 now.

Gerrit Cole was receiving boos from fans after another rough start
After signing his historic $324 million contract with New York, everyone in the Bronx figured Cole would be ready to help the club get back to the World Series. Instead, he’s been nothing short of a major disappointment in 2021.
On Sunday, Cole lasted just 3.1 innings. He gave up six hits and four earned runs. The fact that he couldn’t even get out of the top of the fourth is incredibly worrisome. Yankees fans booed him at the stadium and now they’re also ripping him to shreds on Twitter.
Gerrit Cole is a complete fraud.

All Aaron Boone can do is scratch his head with how bad Cole has looked of late. When he’s at the top of his game, Cole is one of the best starters in baseball. However, he hasn’t even come close to pitching at a high level in his last two starts.
With the Yankees sitting in fourth place of the AL East standings too, Cole’s bad performances really just makes things worse. Unreal.
