Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush posted a disturbing video on social media, and is catching some heat from fans as a result.
Bush was injured for the latter half of last season, and could’ve very well been on his way to a Pro Bowl campaign had he not torn his ACL. The Michigan product’s recovery has been going well, so much so that the team expects him to be ready to go for training camp.
So, what’s the issue?
It’s Bush’s off the field tendencies that have been getting attention for the wrong reasons of late. Just days after calling out people who use TikTok (we can think of a couple Steelers who fall under that category), Bush posted a disturbing video of a cat falling several stories. We will not post that video for good reason, but Steeler Nation is not happy with Bush.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Fans furious at Devin Bush for Twitter activity
Someone from the Steelers organization needs to talk to Devin Bush right now because this is ridiculous. That cat video was heartbreaking to watch

Any cat > Devin Bush.

I defend Steelers to a fault.

Then @_Dbush11 posted that cat video.
Today is a disappointing day.
Just three days after criticizing men who are on TikTok — including his own teammates — #Steelers LB Devin Bush tonight jokingly (and sickeningly) retweeted a video of a cat falling to its death.

But hey, at least he’s not on TikTok, I guess.
unfollowing Devin Bush. As someone who is an animal lover. With 2 cats. I don’t care. It wasn’t funny. It was gross.

Why even repost something like that. The cat fell fucking 10+ stories. Jesus.
Dude is messed up
About the only thing I can say about the Devin Bush cat tweet, besides the obvious, which is that it's incredibly cruel and bad, is this: Where are the teammates publicly (or privately) saying "Hey man, WTF are you doing?" An awful look all around.

Yooooo that video Devin Bush RT with the cat is too much. Even for me. 🤦♂️ #Steelers
— That Blitz Guy (@ThatBlitzGuy) July 5, 2021
It's incredible the Devin Bush was stupid enough to RT that cat video, &make a joke about it. What a POS.
— Mark Madden (@MarkMaddenX) July 5, 2021
I stopped following Devin Bush for his eractic behavior. Posting a video of a cat falling to his death and making fun, asking people for money to take his Twitter account off. Some say his account was hacked. I don't know. But I unfollowed.

A ton of people are unfollowing Devin Bush over a video he tweeted out of a cat falling 10 stories+ to it's death in the atrium of a high rise hotel. https://t.co/U6EGneSnTc

The min @_Dbush11 lands back in the 412 I’m confiscating his phone lol…

There were far more, trust me.
The Steelers have had their fair share of off-field drama the last few seasons, most notably with Antonio Brown. Even JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool have had trouble acclimating to a fanbase that would rather see wins on the field than viral videos before a crushing defeat.
Smith-Schuster, for one, danced on opposing teams’ logos all year, only to fall short of his and the Steelers’ ultimate goal.
It’s fair to wonder if the culture in Pittsburgh has gone astray. As a soon-to-be third-year player, someone ought to pull Bush aside and let him know this kind of behavior isn’t tolerated in the Burgh.
