The schedule is very manageable

The first hurdle to winning the conference is getting to the conference title game.

While there are other intriguing teams in the Pac-12 South, most notably Arizona State, the Trojans have a fortunate schedule giving them an edge.

USC doesn’t have to play Oregon or Washington in the regular season. They don’t have to travel to Salt Lake City to face Utah. While they do have to face ASU on the road, it’ll be late enough in the year that heat won’t be a factor. Plus, the Trojans haven’t lost in Tempe since 2013. Of all the problem stadiums USC struggles in, Sun Devil Stadium isn’t one of them.

Meanwhile, ASU does have to play Washington on the road. They’ll also make the tough trip to Rice-Eccles to battle Utah.

The Utes have to place Oregon and they have an early bye week making for a strenuous finish.

If they’re a factor in the title race this year, UCLA plays Washington and Oregon while getting Utah, USC, and the Huskies on the road.

Basically, USC has a strong chance to make the title game where they’ll have to exorcise some demons against Oregon or Washington. However, just being there will give them a shot.
