Brandon Nimmo robbed Bryan Reynolds of a home run and Twitter totally freaked out over it.
From one centerfielder to another, Brandon Nimmo took a home run away from Bryan Reynolds.
The Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star slugger thought he had another dinger to put on the season ledger, but the New York Mets‘ Energizer Bunny thought differently. 99 percent of centerfielders would have let that big fly sail over the fence, but not Nimmo. He reached over the Citi Field wall and came up with the catch of the season. When he is out there, Nimmo makes all the difference.
Here is how Twitter reacted to one of the best web gems you will see all baseball season long.
Brandon Nimmo makes catch of the season to rob Bryan Reynolds of home run
This is one of those highlights you will have to watch several times to try to understand how Nimmo came up with the grab.
Brandon Nimmo really did this. I am still in awe.

This is as good a play as you’ll see in this sport. pic.twitter.com/ChDQcatyae

This play set Twitter ablaze, as many Mets fans believe he is either the best or the second best player on the team’s roster alongside right-handed pitcher Jacob deGrom, in some order.
Blank check for Brandon Nimmo after this year btw

Brandon Nimmo is the best player on the New York Mets and it’s not even close.

Is a Brandon Nimmo the 2nd best player on the Mets?!

The Mets are a totally different team with Brandon Nimmo at the top of the order. There is no doubt that he’s a game changer, and he doesn’t do it in flashy fashion (minus his robbing of homers on the other side of the ball). The man is a SPARK.

A few more grabs like this and there will be a statue of Nimmo’s likeness somewhere in Flushing in the coming days, weeks or months.

We have our masked king in Kevin Pillar and our maskless king in Brandon Nimmo #LGM

As long as the Mets continue to pitch well and play defense, New York should not only be in the mix to win the NL East, but represent the National League in the 2021 World Series. Six years ago, the Mets got back to the Fall Classic, but it has been well over a generation since they have claimed the Commissioners’ Trophy for themselves. Maybe this is the year for the Mets?
Nimmo is gaining a cult-like status among Mets fans with every amazing thing he does for them.
