ESPN’s Mike Tannenbaum didn’t hold back with his latest comments on Ben Roethlisberger, really going after the veteran quarterback. 

Come the 2021 campaign, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be ready to begin his 18th season. This offseason, there was plenty of speculation that he’d end up retiring, but he’s back for at least one more go.

Fans are pumped up to see what he can accomplish. Well, not everyone is jacked up to see the man known as Big Ben get back on the gridiron. ESPN’s Mike Tannenbaum doesn’t have high expectations for Roethlisberger, going as far as to say that he thinks the signal-caller will get benched midway through the campaign.

Sheesh, tell us how you really feel, Mr. Tannenbaum. Last season, there’s no denying Roethlisberger struggled at times. It was frustrating to see for fans. With that said, he still made some great plays with his arm and Mike Tomlin has full belief in him.

In 2020, Roethlisberger finished the year with 33 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Unfortunately for him, Pittsburgh suffered a rough loss to the Cleveland Browns in the AFC Wild Card Round. No one saw that coming, as the Steelers were considered monster favorites.

In the end, though, Baker Mayfield helped Cleveland record an unforgettable upset. Videos and photos of Roethlisberger crying after the loss went viral shortly after the final whistle. Many thought that was how his historic career was going to come to a close.

Instead, Roethlisberger will try and get the Steelers back to the postseason next winter. If you ask Tannenbaum about that, however, he just doesn’t see it happening. Roethlisberger will surely be motivated to ball out if he watches that clip.
