The All-Star break has arrived in baseball with some teams desperately needing time off to reset and recalibrate while some other teams may not want to take time off away from their winning ways on the diamond.

After the Futures Game and Celebrity Game on Sunday, Monday brings fans the Home Run Derby, which has the exciting Shohei Ohtani participating, and Tuesday is the All-Star Game.

With the Home Run Derby taking place at Coors Field, fans should see several 500-foot moonshots.

What time does the Home Run Derby start?

The Derby begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ESPN. Eight players take the plate, ranging from the Nationals to the Angels, and they’re all heavy hitters. Let’s take a look at who’s who for tonight’s competition in the Mile-High City.

Ohtani, with an MLB-leading 33 home runs this season is the betting favorite with +225 odds according to Wynn Bet. He may also get the nod to start the All-Star Game for the American League tomorrow, as the face of baseball will take centerstage the next two days.

Gallo, Alonso, Olson, Perez, Soto, Story and Mancini round out the favorites in that order.

Coors Field dimensions

With the thin air and baseballs stored in humidors, Coors Field is already a home run haven, so the Home Run Derby will be an electric watch. The Coors Field dimensions favor the hitters on top of the atmospheric conditions. It’s 447 feet to left field, 390 to left-center, 415-feet to center, 375 to right-center and 350 to right field.

What’s the longest home run hit at Coors Field?

Trevor Story was initially believed to have hit the longest home run hit at Coors Field at 505 feet. However, Statcast recalculated the distance and it now sits third all-time at 487 feet. The longest home run hit in the Statcast era (since 2015) is from Giancarlo Stanton who hit a 504-foot blast off Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis on Aug. 6, 2016.
