NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport revealed what the Kansas City Chiefs might do if Frank Clark were to miss games due to gun charge.
The Kansas City Chiefs have some uncertainty on their defensive line. Edge rusher Frank Clark was recently charged with one felony count of possession of an assault weapon stemming from an arrest back on March 13. Clark was also arrested in Los Angeles last month for having an Uzi in a gym bag inside of his car and that is still under investigation. That has some Chiefs fans wondering what the team will do if Clark is slated to miss games this upcoming season.
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday, NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport says that the Chiefs could potentially bring in former Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Melvin Ingram.

Ian Rapoport says the Chiefs could bring in this player if Frank Clark is to miss time
The Chiefs did have some interest in signing Ingram this offseason, as they brought him in for a visit back in March. However, both sides did not reach an agreement on a deal. With Clark facing three years of jail time if convicted and potential discipline by the NFL, that could open up a spot on the roster for Ingram.
When healthy, Ingram is a dominant force on the edge of the line of scrimmage. Ingram had trouble staying on the field this past season, as he limited to seven games after hitting the injured reserve twice due to knee issues. In that span of games, Ingram tallied 10 total tackles, five quarterback hits, two defended passes and one interception.
In his nine-year NFL career, Ingram has posted 360 total tackles (70 for loss), 108 quarterback hits, 49 sacks, 28 defended passes, 14 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Clark is scheduled to be arraigned on July 14.
