Everything you need to know about the Mile-High matchup between the American and National League at the 2021 MLB All-Star game.

With All-Star week kicking off with the highly anticipated Home Run Derby taking place Monday at 8 p.m., the All-Star game is finally within reach with a much needed opportunity to decompress before jumping into the playoffs.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Mile-High matchup between the American and National League at the 2021 MLB All-Star game.

When does the game start?

The All-Star is slated to begin on July 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on FOX, and live streaming on fuboTV.

But who’s taking the field? Well, with a few injuries earlier this week, the rosters have shifted, but the entertainment won’t be lacking despite this.

Who’s playing in the All-Star Game this go round?

With Shohei Ohtani and Max Scherzer being named starting pitchers for the American and National League respectively, the excitement is starting to brew for the level of talent that is to take the field on both sides of the ball.

To add, Ohtani is the first player in MLB history to pitch and hit for an All-Star game and the second Japanese player to start, the first being Hideo Nomo of the Dodgers in 1995.

The elected starters for the National League are as Follows

  • C: J.T. Realmuto – Philadelphia Phillies
  • 1B: Freddie Freeman – Atlanta Braves
  • 2B: Adam Frazier – Pittsburgh Pirates
  • 3B: Nolan Arenado – St. Louis Cardinals
  • SS: Fernando Tatis Jr. – San Diego Padres
  • OF: Bryan Reynolds – Pittsburgh Pirates
  • OF: Nick Castellanos – Cincinnati Reds
  • OF: Jesse Winker – Cincinnati Reds
  • DH: Max Muncy – Los Angeles Dodgers

Who’s beating whom? What to expect:

Though rosters have moved around with the loss of Acuna from a devastating ACL tear on Saturday, the National League still has quite a few prominent players to get them to a win. Freeman at first base with his height will be a great effort on defense. While I can’t directly say by how much the NL will win by, I don’t think it will be by much, with the American League’s “Shotime” Ohtani as their designated hitter.

Though it is just for fun, I don’t expect anything less than a healthy level of competition with a few 400+ footers speckled in between the thick of it all.

Next. Shohei Ohtani is making me look like an idiot with every home run (Video). dark
