Arike Ogunbowale was having all the fun live Tweeting during Wednesday night’s 2021 WNBA All-Star Game.
Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale was enjoying every minute of the 2021 WNBA All-Star Game on Wednesday, including the timeouts. Ogunbowale took advantage of the breaks in play to live-tweet updates and share photos from court-side at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes through the minds of athletes mid-game, Ogunbowale is giving plenty of insight.
Hey y’all I’m live tweeting during the game today. Pretty solid first 6 minutes. Down 2. Also JJ got a stroke! 😂

An NCAA Champion out of Notre Dame, Ogunbowale finished as the WNBA’s scoring leader during the 2020 “Wubble” season, receiving an All-WNBA First Team selection in the process. Last year’s All-Star festivities were cancelled, though, so she’s soaking up every minute of her first All-Star appearance.
Ogunbowale was even getting in-game selfies with her Team WNBA comrades as they battled to a one-point edge over Team USA at halftime.

At the break, Ogunbowale was leading all scorers with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting. She seemed proud of her performance thus far lining up against a Team USA squad preparing for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

No doubt there are some women’s basketball observers who’d argue Ogunbowale is playing for the wrong side tonight. She’s turned a lot of heads with her scoring prowess and penchant for hitting huge buzzer-beaters.

However, she’s still just 24 years old, and the general belief is she’ll be in line for a spot on Team USA’s Olympic roster for Paris 2024.
Averaging 18.9 points per game this season and serving a threat to score from just about anywhere on the court, Arike Ogunbowale is a bonafide WNBA star in the making. We hope the buckets — and the tweets — keep on coming.
