3 teams that should steal Chris Godwin from Bucs next offseason

2. Washington Football Team wins Godwin sweepstakes
The Washington Football Team have money to spend and are already close to being a regular contender in the NFC. It helps that the NFC East is routinely a trash heap, but WFT needs weapons on the outside to aid whoever they make the face of their franchise come 2022. For now, they don’t have a regular signal-caller, either, which takes away from their chances at landing a player like Godwin who can choose his next home.
But factor in Washington’s excellent defense and what (fans hope) will be a successful rebrand by next season, and Godwin could be a shiny free agent to point to and add to the fold. They’d be willing to pay up, too.
Washington has just over $60 million in cap space entering next offseason. Terry McLaurin is a nice start, but he and Godwin would form an elite pairing for Washington’s quarterback of the future.
