Breaking down the PGA DFS slate on DraftKings for The Open Championship 2021 as we highlight the best picks in each pricing tier before constructing lineups.

We haven’t seen The Open Championship since 2019 thanks to the pandemic but it returns in 2021 as the final major championship of the year heads to Royal St. George’s. A course that’s hosted the event twice already this century (2003, 2011), this should be a classic British Open with links golf, plenty of elements to contend with and a ton of entertainment.

And, of course, an absolutely loaded DraftKings slate for PGA DFS players to tackle.

Major championship fields always tighten the muscles when it comes to playing on DraftKings and for good reason. Especially at somewhere like the British Open, you’re looking at a massive field in which you can seemingly get tremendous value throughout the board. But the key is finding the right guys for this course and going after it.

We’re going to try and help with that as we look at the DraftKings PGA DFS slate for The Open Championship by breaking down each pricing tier before constructing some possible lineups.

DraftKings British Open picks: $10,000 range

Jon Rahm ($11,300) – Rahm has been the best golfer in the world over the past month, from dominating the Memorial prior to being forced to withdraw to then coming back and winning the U.S. Open and then finishing top 10 at the Scottish Open last week. He’s worth every penny at this price if you can fit him in your lineup.

Rory McIlroy ($10,900) – If we get to see good Rory this week at the British Open, then he could end up being great value at this price. However, it’s super difficult to believe that he’s in line for that. The talent is never in question but the game right now is. It’s starting to look like the win at Quail Hollow is the outlier and not a return to form.

Brooks Koepka ($10,700) – We know Koepka seems to always ramp his game up for majors and this is no exception. His game could be well suited for an Open Championship as well. His ability to simply not make mistakes should suit Royal St. George’s and make him worth paying up into this tier.

Dustin Johnson ($10,400) – Much like with Rory, the talent with DJ is obvious and we saw how dominant he is when he’s on last year. Plus, he was T5 in 2011 at this venue. His game, on the other hand, has been sub-standard over the last few months and, with so much talent and value on the DraftKings slate, I’m probably passing here.

Xander Schauffele ($10,000) – Schauffele is likely to be an extremely popular play on DraftKings at this price at the minimum for this range. That may turn me off of him to some degree but there’s also a reason he’s going to be that popular. His game should play well here and he could pay off big time.
