Fernando Tatis, Jr. is stealing Freddie Freeman’s son from him

The friendship between Fernando Tatis Jr. and Charlie Freeman was on full display during Tuesday’s game between the San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves.
One of the more viral moments of the 2021 MLB All-Star festivities was seeing Charlie Freeman, son of Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman, meet his favorite baseball player — Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres. A week after the interaction, the friendship is still for real.
During Tuesday night’s game, Tatis was standing in the on-deck circle waiting for his at-bat. He then noticed Charlie Freeman in the stands and both waved towards each other at the exact same time in a sweet moment.

Freddie Freeman mentioned that Charlie was hoping he would make the National League All-Star team this year, not to see him play. Rather, that was Charlie’s opportunity to meet Tatis in person. At the Home Run Derby, the two met in the dugout and the duo hugged it out.
Tatis solidified himself as one of the league’s top stars ever since he made San Diego’s Opening Day roster back in 2019. In 2021, Tatis is having the best season of his career, and it is only July. Through 77 games, Tatis is slashing .291/.372/.649 while recording 28 home runs, 64 RBI, 73 runs scored, 83 hits and 22 stolen bases.
Even though Tatis is facing off against his dad’s team, Charlie is showing that the friendship will last forever between himself and the Padres superstar.
