2021 Olympics softball tournament: How to watch online

Olympic Softball is underway in Tokyo, we have all the info you need to tune in on live stream, cable and more.

In the wee hours of the morning stateside, we were woken up with talks of a W for the United States Olympic team over Italy in the opening round of the softball tournament in Tokyo. Although the Opening Ceremony takes place on Friday, some sports are already taking the field for competition. Softball is one of them.

Six teams will step up in competition for the gold and it’s already looking like it’s suiting up to meet the hype of the 2008 run in Beijing.

If you need a refresher, the winning crew consists of Japan, Canada and the United States. The next matchup will be at 8:00 p.m. between Canada and the United States, both teams winning by shutouts in their games earlier today.

The U.S. downed Italy 2-0, getting two runs in the fourth and fifth innings respectively. Canada had a heartier stat line with a win over Mexico 4-0. The winner in the North American match-up will take on the winner between the Japan/Mexico game.

Nonetheless, if you couldn’t get enough of the Women’s College World Series, you will definitely get your fix in this Olympic tournament this week.
