Eloy Jimenez makes absurd catch in minor-league rehab start (Video)
Chicago White Sox fans should be excited after seeing this amazing catch by Eloy Jimenez in his minor-league rehab start.
Eloy Jimenez has been hard at work this season, but not the baseball diamond. During spring training, the Chicago White Sox infielder suffered a torn pectoral muscle in a Cactus League game. When news broke of his injury, many thought his season 2021 season was over. Someone must’ve forgotten to tell Jimenez that.
He’s made exceptional progress in his rehab and has been playing in minor league games recently. That is a positive sign for Chicago and their team, who could use Jimenez’s power at the plate. The infielders also showed off his glove skills, making a ridiculous catch during one of his minor league games on Wednesday.

The simple fact that Eloy Jimenez could play in games for the White Sox this year is remarkable. He’s worked through his rehab and is on track to join Chicago soon if things continue to progress smoothly. Based on Jimenez’s catch on Wednesday, he could be ready to jump back into the majors really soon.
While playing for the Charlotte Knights in Triple-AAA, a hitter from the Durham Bulls hit the ball into shallow left field. Jimenez (who was playing in the outfield) swooped in quickly for the sliding catch. After pulling off the great grab, Jimenez laid on the ground, relishing in what was an impressive play.

That highlight from Eloy Jimenez should make White Sox fans, coaches, and players excited about his return. He’s proven to be an exceptional talent, hitting 45 home runs and racking up 120 RBIs in 177 MLB games. If he can continue to hit like that and make amazing catches like this, Chicago could get a major boost when Jimenez joins the team.
