Marlins frustration boils over with reported altercation in clubhouse
Miami Marlins outfielders Monte Harrison and Starling Marte were involved in a fight in the team’s clubhouse during their three-game series in Washington.
The Miami Marlins season hasn’t gone how they thought it would. After reaching the playoffs last season, the team finds itself at the cellar of the NL East with a 41-55 record. A recent COVID scare and a plethora of injuries haven’t made the Marlins season any less stressful. With their playoff hopes on life support, the team needs to find a way to win some games.
It seems like Miami was more focused on pointing fingers than rallying as a team. Reports have come out that a fight occurred in the team’s clubhouse between two Marlin players.
Marlins players Monte Harrison and Starling Marte reportedly fought in the team clubhouse.
Tensions have finally boiled over in Miami after what has been a rough couple of days. Outfielders Monte Harrison and Starling Marte had a fight in the team’s clubhouse Thursday, according to Craig Mish of Sportsgrid. The fight occurred in Washington, where the team just finished a three-game series against the Washington Nationals.
Mish reported that Harrison instigated a confrontation with Mate, which resulted in the two fighting.
According to Mish, the situation has been handled internally by the team. However, the Marlins organization nor anybody on the team’s roster has commented on the situation. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
