The Green Bay Packers will son be welcoming Aaron Rodgers back into the fold, as a report says the MVP is ready to play football again in Titletown.

This was always going to be the outcome. Always.

On Monday, NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport tweeted Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers intends to play for the franchise in 2021. This, only two days before the team opens its training camp in Wisconsin.

Whether Rodgers shows up for the start of camp is unknown, but should he miss, the current Collective Bargaining Agreement states Rodgers will be fined $50K daily, and the money isn’t allowed to be returned.

Is Aaron Rodgers leaving the Packers?

Of course, the ire between Rodgers and the team isn’t going anywhere. He’s been publicly upset with the Packers since they drafted his eventual replacement in Jordan Love, doing so in the 2020 first round. Rodgers responded with perhaps the best season of his career, winning his third MVP title with 4,299 passing yards, 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions while leading the league with a 70.7 completion rate.

With Rodgers signed for the next three seasons, this could drag out for quite some time. However, that’s all a future concern for the Packers and their fans right now, as they’re one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LVI. Over the last two seasons under head coach Matt LaFleur, Rodgers and Co. have come close to Super Sunday, twice losing in the NFC Championship Game.

For Green Bay, it’s been a long offseason, but it ultimately brings back an all-time great quarterback for at least one more year.
