2021 Olympic baseball tournament: How to watch online
The 2021 Olympic baseball tournament begins on July 27, with six teams competing for a gold medal. Here’s how to watch the action.
Olympic baseball is back!
The 2021 Olympic baseball tournament will mark the sports’ first appearance on the world’s stage since 2008.
This year, Team USA will go up against five other gold medal hopefuls: Dominican Republic, Israel, Japan, Mexico and South Korea.
You won’t see any MLB stars on the roster for the Americans. The only MLB-affiliated pros who can play are the ones who aren’t on a 40-man roster in the league. That means everyone out there, from minor leaguers to journeymen, will be looking to impress their way up the pro ladder.
There is a familiar face running the show at the Olympics. Former Angels manager Mike Scioscia is managing Team USA.
By contrast, Japanese and South Korean pros will take part for those teams.
