Patrick Mahomes now co-owns another Kansas City team

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is now part owner of the MLS’ Sports Kansas City soccer team. 

Have we ever seen someone step in and mean so much to a city like this? What Patrick Mahomes has been able to get done in Kansas City with the Chiefs since he joined the team is nothing short of remarkable. It’s not only the NFL team, though.

Previously, Mahomes won over even more hearts when he became a part owner of the Kansas City Royals. After signing his $502 million deal, it of course was only wise for him to make some investments. Well, he’s not done, as it was just announced that Mahomes is also now a part owner of Sporting Kansas City.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join Sporting Kansas City’s ownership team and strengthen my connection to the fans and the city I love,” Mahomes said in the club statement. “Sporting is a community-oriented club and I am excited to continue supporting the growth of soccer in Kansas City.”

So, when he’s not busy throwing the football all over the field and chasing Super Bowl rings, Mahomes is making moves in the MLS and MLB? Yup.

This latest move has of course been well received by both Chiefs and Sporting KC fans. There are few people loved more than Mahomes in the city. After helping the Chiefs bring home the Lombardi Trophy two years ago, he nearly helped the team repeat this past winter.

Come this season, Mahomes and Co. are expected to push for another title. Regardless of if that happens or not, nothing will change the fact that the star signal-caller is making a massive, massive impact on the community.
