Twitter rallies around Simone Biles after injury forces Olympic team withdraw.
News broke overnight that America’s Olympic darling, Simone Biles, was injured during competition and was forced to withdrawal from the team competition. We don’t know yet if she will compete in any individual events going forward.
According to a statement from U.S.A. Gymnastics, “she will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions.”
This is a huge blow to Team USA and fans from around the world who flock to watch her floor routines. But in a show of just how much Biles means to the people, fans took to Twitter to show their support for her.
Twitter offered well wishes to American darling Simone Biles
The #Olympics are a brutal pursuit, regardless of the sport—the physical, mental, and emotional toll doesn’t just add up, it actually compounds like interest.

The better the athlete.
The higher the expectations.
The lower the empathy quotient.
Brutal.
Prayers to #SimoneBiles
Simone Biles 😭

I can't even imagine the physical, mental, and emotional strain Simone Biles has been under. She deserves our prayers for her rather than judge her and gossip about her. 🙏❤️🇺🇲 https://t.co/u64TZ9kgyY

Breathe. Take care of yourself. You have many great things ahead of you.
Simone Biles continues to be stronger than she needs to be. Between her literal physical strength, and her commitment to keeping the Larry Nassar abuse from fading to the background, she deserves to prioritize herself and her health, for once.

With Biles out, Team USA dropped below Team Russia, this would be the first time since 2010 that Team USA lost a team final … ironically also to Russia.
Even if Team USA doesn’t walk away with the gold medal it’s fantastic to see the world come together to support Biles. That’s something no gold medal can achieve.
