Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers just had his first press conference of training camp and people’s minds are blown.
The daytime soap operas really have no chance competing with the live one going on in Green Bay this week. With the Packers at training camp, that means Aaron Rodgers is back in the building despite all the offseason drama with the front office.
On Wednesday, Rodgers spoke to reporters for the first time and didn’t hold back opening up about his issues with Brian Gutekunst and the rest of the front office. Rodgers was completely open, letting everyone know just how frustrated he was.
Aaron Rodgers has turned Twitter upside down following his presser on Wednesday
A quick look at Twitter lets you know just how taken aback folks are with what Rodgers had to say. He basically called out Gutekunst for not keeping him informed of big-time decisions, while also saying he nearly decided to hang up his cleats and retire.

Damn #ARod is PREACHING right now. EVERY GM should run this press conference back and take a few notes.

Sounds like Rodgers is being pretty candid with the media today. https://t.co/v55vo6WPhg

This press conference is INCREDIBLE

How can Aaron Rodgers blame the media (which he's now doing) when what he's saying today meshes with 99 percent of what had been reported and discussed throughout the past three months?

Best player press conference in terms of poise, preparedness, being direct, to the point…I have ever witnessed. And it was necessary.

Aaron Rodgers is being completely honest in this. Talking about not being involved with the hiring of Matt LeFleur (he is happy LeFleur is there). Not getting it run by him with Jake Kumerow being cut and on and on and on.

“In my opinion it should tie myself to more input."
Aaron Rodgers, unfiltered.

I mean, this is among the more fascinating press conferences I’ve ever heard. He’s putting it all out there. Every bit of it.

Rodgers reasons for his absence in offseason:
— Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) July 28, 2021
1-org not committed to him long term
2-wasn't involved in recruiting new players
3-upset about how high character vets were treated on the way out the door
First two reasons didn't surprise me but the 3rd was fascinating.
Let’s be very clear: There has been no part of this press conference where Aaron has said, “but we worked through these issues and it’s all good.” It’s very clear the current fix is a bandaid on an open-heart surgery.

Aaron Rodgers now one step away from blaming the media for deciding to kick a field goal in the NFC Championship Game

As you can see from those tweets above, people couldn’t believe how open Rodgers was. While he’s focused on trying to get the Packers back to the Super Bowl, it’s obvious that he wasn’t happy with the team in recent months.
Matter of fact, things have been going south for a while now. With Rodgers coming off an MVP season in 2020, he’ll of course be ready to ball out in 2021. For Gutekunst, however, he must make his superstar signal-caller happy and keep things that way.
