Tight end Kelvin Benjamin had a heated exchanged with head coach Joe Judge before the New York Giants decided to release him.

The Kelvin Benjamin experiment has been short lived for the New York Giants. The big-sized wide receiver moved over to East Rutherford to suit up as a tight end for the NFC East squad, but he won’t be making in to Week 1. Matter of fact, he hasn’t even made it past the day.

Over at training camp, Benjamin appeared to have gotten into a heated exchange with Joe Judge and Dave Gettleman to start the day. Things got so bad, Benjamin ended up walking off the field. Now, the team has since decided to release him.

Just like that, Benjamin is on his way out of town. Who in the world saw this coming? The Giants were hopeful that things would be able to work out, but the fact that camp just got underway and things are already ending in this kind of fashion is a horrible sign.

Folks were confused when the Benjamin signing was announced. After a rookie season to remember with the Carolina Panthers – where he posted 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns – things have gone downhill for the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder.

He hasn’t appeared in a game since 2018. That season, he suited up for both the Bills and Chiefs, posting 25 receptions for 380 yards and one score. He was hoping to take advantage of another shot with the Giants, but things couldn’t have gone worse for him. After this fallout with New York, we’ll see if another team decides to give Benjamin a call, but that seems unlikely at this point.
