Jarren Duran was robbed of an inside the park home run (Video)
Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran completed a thrilling inside-the-park home run against the Blue Jays before the score sheet robbed him.
Jarren Duran hit an inside-the-park home run on Wednesday. That’s the story and we’re sticking to it.
In the fourth inning against the Blue Jays, Duran thrilled the crowd at Fenway with a hit into deep center. As the ball rolled onto the warning track, the outfielder put on the jets.
With speed like Duran’s, you better believe he went all the way.
Jarren Duran’s inside-the-park home run was ruled a triple and error
It sure looked like an inside-the-parker, but whoever filled out the stat sheet disagreed. The play officially went down as a triple with a fielding error by center fielder George Springer.
Even though he was denied the home run, Duran still put two runs on the board for the Red Sox. He also contributed to the end of pitcher Steven Matz’s night. After he gave up the “triple,” a single to Enrique Hernandez and a double to Rafael Devers, manager Charlie Montoyo pulled him for Patrick Murphy, who got out of the inning.
Duran also got the better of Matz in the bottom of the second inning with a sacrifice fly to score Alex Verdugo.
